11/30 Knitter Hero

30 Day Knitting Challenge Day 11: Do you have a “Knitter Hero” or someone that is just way too awesome for their own good? Do share!?

One of the women in my knitting group, RabbitSmile on Ravelry, is my biggest knitter hero. She’s always willing to help anyone with their projects and has really thoughtful, intelligent suggestions; she’s incredibly generous with her time and expertise and is always encouraging. RabbitSmile is an amazing craftsperson/artisan: she knits, crochets, spins, and does other crafty things. She’s always got something interesting on her needles and often brings new books and patterns to share with the group. If you’re on Ravelry, you should look her up and check out her projects: she’s amazing!

I knit, crochet, spin, and have done some experimenting with weaving and natural dye. I’m also a technical writer, mom to 3 boys, and enjoy gardening.

  1. Oh, wow! She really does have beautiful projects! I really like her idea of Knit the Bin / Stashdown, where she takes yarn, matches them up with projects and then marks her progress. That might be an idea for me to follow to knit from my stash 🙂 Thank you so much for posting!

    1. She’s full of great ideas! I keep thinking I need to use her idea also, but then I fool myself into thinking I’m already doing it. Meanwhile, another sweater-quantity of yarn comes into my life …

  2. Mine is a good friend who used to be my boss. UnwindYarn on Ravelry if you want to look. She was the best boss I ever had (probably why she’s a good friend now), and I learned so much from her. She is one of those knitters who can answer just about any knitting question with insight and detail. And the stuff she designed is stuff that I wear constantly. 🙂
